Richard Clark

Guitar, vocals

Richard knew he wanted to be a musician from an early age. Starting with the saxophone in 5th grade, he quickly made the move to electric guitar. Early influences included the Beatles, Carl Perkins, and just about anything that rocked. While just a teen, Richard played in a "Rock Workshop" band that led to his first real band, Shattered Images. From 1986-91 he learned what it took to take a band from the garage to the stage, playing everything from school dances to nightclubs in Laughlin, Nevada.

Other notable band experience includes tour guitarist for A&M recording artist Jeannette Katt from 1992-93, lead guitarist with the band Blade from 1993-94, and a long stint with LA music scene staple The Greg Edwards band from 1997- 2010. In 2012 he formed The Meddlers with his wife Andrea with whom he writes and records. Richard’s history with Poetic License goes back almost to the band’s inception when he began filling in whenever needed.

Richard earned an AA in Music from Chaffey College and graduated from LA’s legendary Guitar institute of Technology in 1990. He continued working his way through college playing gigs and teaching guitar, earning his BA in history from CSU San Bernardino. Today Richard teaches private guitar lessons and plays gigs whenever he can.
